Weekend forecast: Spring like temps

It's safe to say spring has sprung... but is it already May? It'll feel like it this weekend!

WEEKEND STORM CHANCES

Right off the bat, let me tell you, this will NOT be a washout of a weekend. Many of you will be out celebrating St. Patrick’s Day Saturday morning at the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day parade, and the weather will be fantastic! Temperatures when the parade kicks off at 11 a.m. will be near 70°.

Our chance of rain goes up in the afternoon, but the overall coverage will remain LOW. A few thunderstorms will develop ahead of the dryline Saturday afternoon south of the metro. As these storms develop after 3PM and lift northeast, one or two could become strong to severe with large hail up to the size of quarters being the primary risk. A few storms are possible through the evening as well, but most will NOT see rain Saturday. A level 1, marginal risk has been posted across all of DFW and areas to the south and east.

Another chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast for Sunday. The coverage will be just a little bit higher through the day, but still on the low side. The risk for severe storms is also low and the same concerns are in play: hail and wind.

Make sure to check back for updates to the forecast and risk for severe weather this weekend!
