The victim was identified as Lin Wang. Police are still searching for the suspect.

Police released a sketch on Monday of the man suspected of killing a 24-year-old woman at her apartment in North Dallas after she returned home from walking her dog.

The suspect was described as a white man with a tall, skinny build and wavy hair.

The woman was identified as Lin Wang. Police are still searching for the suspect.

A sketch of a man suspect of killling a 24-year-old woman at her North Dallas apartment on Friday.

Officers responded about 8 p.m. Friday to the Churchill on the Parks Apartments in the 7600 block of Churchill Way, where two victims were found in the apartment with stab wounds. Wang was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other victim was taken to a hospital. The Churchill on the Parks Apartments are off U.S. 75 and LBJ Freeway.

After interviewing several residents, detectives learned that Wang had gone outside to walk her pet and was followed back into her apartment, police said.

A friend of Lin Wang described her as "hard-working, very smart, and religious." The friend tells WFAA that Lin had just graduated early in the summer from the University of Texas-Dallas in accounting. She was working for a firm in Dallas.

Meanwhile at the apartment complex, there is plenty of anxiety among residents WFAA spoke with. "I don't feel safe walking my dog without protection," said resident Christianna Bargas. Many who use the nearby trails and walk their dogs at the apartments in vaguely knew her. One resident said she was personable and always said "Hello" and "Good Morning" while out walking the dog.

"I don't know why he chose this person or what the reasoning was behind it, and that's the unnerving part of it," said Mark Meisenger who is also a long-time criminal defense attorney.

Meisenger told WFAA that he lives in the same apartment building as Wang and her roommate. A friend tells WFAA that the roommate, who was also stabbed, is now in the ICU at a nearby hospital.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact detective David Grubbs at 214-671-3675. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. Tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 214-373-8477.
