Wave after wave of showers to roll through North Texas

Temps will be cold enough Saturday for rain to change to wintry mix or snow...but it won't be cold enough to stick or freeze.

Another chilly day of on-and-off showers is in the forecast Saturday. Rain will continue into Saturday morning, mainly of the light variety.

During the day on Saturday, rain will decrease in coverage from south to north. Best chance for lingering showers (mainly light) will be along and north of Interstate 20 by Saturday afternoon into evening.

Also during this timeframe (Saturday afternoon and evening) temps will be cold enough across far western and northern North Texas (along and north of a Breckenridge-to-Denton-to-Paris line) for rain to change to a wintry mix or snow.

HOWEVER, even though temps will be in the 30s, they will be warm enough (above freezing) that any snow that falls will likely not accumulate. Even if it does, it would be very light amounts, and only on elevated surfaces. This means roadways will not become icy, and not impact travel besides the roads being wet.

Any rain or precipitation will move out of North Texas Saturday night leaving chilly temps behind.

Sunday morning temps will be in the low to mid-30s, but no more rain. It will be dry for all the runners in the Dallas Marathon, but cold. Temps Sunday afternoon will only "warm" into the mid to upper 40s, so it stays chilly all day long.

Heading into next week, temps will slowly warm with no rain in the forecast for the first half of the week.
