DFW Weather: Let's talk about rain, winter weather chance in North Texas

Let's talk about the rain in DFW and winter weather chances in North Texas this weekend

One last day of rain in North Texas before a dry second part of the weekend.

Rain will be mainly light Saturday with coverage decreasing this afternoon and most places dry (besides some patchy drizzle) by this evening.

Temps today stay cold, but above freezing almost everywhere. Temps will hover in the upper 30s and low 40s throughout the day.

Now to winter weather chances

Far western and northwestern North Texas (along and west of a Cisco to Decatur to Gainesville line) will likely see a wintry mix or a transition to snow today. However, any accumulation would be light and confined to elevated surfaces and grassy areas. Roadways will remain wet, but icy or snowy roadways are not likely. While the DFW area will remain cold, it will not be cold enough for any snow.

The mostly light rain or any wintry weather will start to decrease in coverage and move out of North Texas by this evening. If you have any evening plans, it will be cold but less rainy.

Rain will continue to move on into the overnight hours with no rain by late tonight into tomorrow morning. Cloud will linger, so it will be a cloudy and cold start Sunday morning.

Dallas Marathon

Runners will have to deal with temps in the 30s and cloudy skies. Skies will slowly clear throughout the day on Sunday with sunshine possible during the afternoon. Even with sunshine, highs on Sunday will only be in the mid to upper 40s.
