Inside Texas Politics began with 42-year-old Brad Parscale, President Donald Trump's re-election campaign manager. Parscale is so tall the president nicknames him – Amazon.

Parscale discussed with host Jason Whitely the challenges and opportunities the president is likely to face during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Another Texan who might run against President Donald Trump in 2020 is Congressman Beto O’Rourke. O’Rourke insisted in an interview with Inside Texas Politics that he would not run for president next year. In the last few weeks, he has reconsidered that stance. Ross Ramsey, co-founder and executive editor of the Texas Tribune, joined host Jason Whitely to give his take on what will be the deciding factor on whether Beto will run for president. Jason and Ross also discussed the reason behind Plano Republican Jeff Leach resigning from the Freedom Caucus.
