Cowboys star Amari Cooper excels on and off the field. Just ask this military family.

JOSHUA — It's no secret that Dallas Cowboys newcomer Amari Cooper is becoming a fan-favorite on the field.

His dazzling performance in Sunday's win has the wide receiver fulfilling the holiday prayers of die-hard fans across North Texas.

On Monday afternoon, though, the 24-year-old found himself on a different field winning over a different crowd.

"To be able to come out here and give back and put smiles on this family's face, it means everything," Cooper told WFAA.

Cooper surprised (maybe 'shocked' is a better word) the Webster family in Joshua.

"I'm definitely going to have some friends that are jealous now," said dad Justin.

He's a US Army veteran who now serves in the National Guard.

Thanks to a little secret planning by the organization Blue Star Families, Justin Webster, his wife, and four kids are now all sleeping on brand new, donated mattresses from Sleep Number.

"It's very touching that Blue Star, Sleep and the Cowboys have come out. It's amazing," Webster said.

They also got gifts from the Cowboys that the kids couldn't wait to throw on before they played a little catch with their new favorite player.

"To hand them my jersey, Dak's jersey, it's amazing," Cooper said.
