Four people — three men and one woman — are in a local hospital with varying degrees of non-life-threatening burns after a single-story house caught fire at the 3900 block of Mehalia Drive in South Dallas.

There was minimal fire damage to the house since the flames had mostly burned out by the time Dallas Fire-Rescue units had arrived.

The first responders were initially at the home for an aggravated assault call around 7:02 p.m.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, officials said.
