As part of Brent's probation, the former football player is required to submit to drug and alcohol checks. He is also required to remain sober and clean during his probation.

Additionally, Brent is required to have an ignition interlock on his vehicle, prohibiting him from driving after drinking alcohol.

On Sunday in Coppell, Brent appeared intoxicated, police said.

A 911 caller reported there was a man sitting on the grass talking to himself outside a Coppell Wendy's. When officers arrived to check on the man, they identified him as Brent, Coppell police said.

The officers told Brent he would be arrested for public intoxication, but Brent was "uncooperative with the officers by resisting the officer’s attempt to be handcuffed," according to the police statement.

"I'm a Cowboy; you can Google me. I'm Josh Brent," Brent told police officers according to witnesses at the scene.

He was arrested on a charge of felony assault of a public servant and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. He was booked in and then bonded out Monday at the Dallas County jail.
