Big changes: windy and much cooler the rest of Friday

A strong cold front has arrived in North Texas. Rain is moving out, and chilly temps are moving into the area.

Updated at 11:30 a.m. with the latest forecast.

Rain is moving out of North Texas. Only places still seeing some lingering rain are eastern and southern North Texas. Rain will linger in those locations into the early afternoon before moving out by mid-afternoon at the very latest.

Falling Temps

The front has moved through the D-FW area. Temps will fall a little or hold steady the rest of the day.

Expect temps to hover in the 50s and upper 40s the through the afternoon. With lingering clouds and strong winds, it will feel even cooler. Make sure you dress for chilly temps!

This Weekend

In the wake of Friday's cold front, Saturday morning will start off quite chilly. In fact, it will be the coolest temps we've seen so far this season!

The morning will start off in the 40s all across North Texas with even some 30s across western North Texas.

Afternoon temps on Saturday will only top out in the 60s. A pleasantly cool fall day.

Sunday will bring some changes, however,. Winds shift out of the south and will become gusty at times. This will warm afternoon temps into the upper 70s and low 80s. You'll notice it being a little muggier as well.
