ARLINGTON, Texas — Updated at 8:23 p.m. with details on the man's death from Arlington police.

A man died after he experienced a "medical episode" and drove his SUV through a fence and into a pool Monday, Arlington police said.

Earlier, rescue crews said they pulled the man to safety.

It happened in the 1400 block of Comanche Court Monday evening.

According to the Arlington Fire Department, the man's vehicle went through a fence and into a pool. Arlington police said the man was trying to park in front of the house when he experienced some sort of "medical episode," causing him to drive through the fence and into the pool.

Officials said he was unable to get himself out of the car, so fire crews had to extract him from the pool. First responders performed CPR before taking him to a local hospital.

The man died at the hospital, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his name once next of kin has been notified and will determine the man's manner and cause of death, police said.

No other information, including the man's identity, was immediately available.
