Rangers fans get tattoos in celebration of World Series Championship

Fans commemorated the World Series champions, the Texas Rangers, by getting tattoos. "When they win, we’re winning with them," said Ramiro Guerrero.

DALLAS — The Texas Rangers has some of the most loyal fans in the country. Many of those fans are proud to sport their team in some unique ways -- like spending Friday at Controversy Ink Tattoo Studio commemorating the World Series victory.

No pain, no gain. “Win or lose or draw, you’re still going to ride with your team,” said Ubaldo Ramirez, a tattoo artist and client.

He has been riding for the World Series champions since he could remember.

“To actually see your city on fire like that, it brings back a lot of childhood memories,” said Ramirez.

The whole series, Ramirez sat on pins and needles. He has marked the World Series win with a tattoo of his own.

He received a tattoo of the Commissioner’s Trophy, which is now his second tattoo representing the Rangers.

“It’s honestly like a canvas to let everybody know where I’m from and what I’m proud of without having to say a word,” said Ramirez.

It is an expression that Bethany Espinoza also gets. She got a Texas Rangers “T” on her arm.

“This is my way of celebrating them. I’m not there, but I’ll be there in spirit,” said Espinoza.

Controversy Ink Tattoo Studio owner, Ramiro Guerrero, is also a huge Rangers fan. He said he has been busy tattooing Rangers designs all season.

“Now that the World Series is over, we’ve got a lot of trophies and a lot of large pieces,” Guerrero said. “We’re suffering with them the whole time through the playoff drought. When they win, we’re winning with them.”

Beer brand, Estrella Jalisco, partnered with local tattoo parlors, Heart in Hand Gallery, Urban’s Tattoo & Piercing Studio and Ink Masters Arlington to host a commemorative Rangers Tattoo giveaway. Winners of the giveaway received a free Texas Rangers tattoo.

“It gives you more stride. It’s a lot of momentum that’s building up. You can actually feel these players’ energy and their excitement because they’re so close to us,” said Ramirez.

It is a connection that some have put in ink to share their love and support for the team.
