Man accused of stabbing ex-girlfriend's boyfriend in Texas Wesleyan dorm, police say

Police said the victim's friends overheard the incident and intervened, injuring the suspect in the process.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A man is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend inside a dorm room at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth on Tuesday night, police said.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m., when officers were dispatched to a dorm in the 1200 block of Wesleyan Drive. Texas Wesleyan is located in east Fort Worth, near East Rosedale and Beach Street.

Officers arrived and met with the victim, who had been stabbed. The victim told police that he had been at the dorm room with his girlfriend when her ex-boyfriend arrived. Words were exchanged, he told police, and then the ex-boyfriend grabbed a pair of scissors and began stabbing him.

Police said the victim's friends overheard the incident and intervened, injuring the suspect in the process.

The victim was treated at the scene and had non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, who also had non-life-threatening injuries, was arrested but taken to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment, police said.

The suspect's name and charges have not been released.
