Beaumont teen found in Mid-County after being considered critically missing

BEAUMONT, Texas — An AMBER alert issued for a Beaumont teen who was last seen Monday evening has been canceled after she was found in Mid-County.

Seryna Ferrin, 14, was caught on surveillance video wearing a red Lamar Cardinals hoodie at Triangle Baptist Church at 605 U.S. Highway 69 at about 10:10 p.m. Monday night. 

That sighting came nearly three hours after she had originally last been seen at about 7:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Charlotte Dr in Beaumont Monday evening.

The church she was spotted at Monday night is about 5.5 miles south of where she was last seen.

Beaumont Police had asked for the public's help in finding the teen, who was considered to be critically missing.

Police said Ferrin, who has Autism and has the capacity of an 8-year-old, has no access to any type of electronic devices, internet or social media.

She is homeschooled and besides her family and her case worker she has no known friends or people close to her.
