Sam's Club in Grapevine reopening after tornados ripped through North Texas

Five people were injured in the December 2022 storms, and several businesses, including the Grapevine Mills Mall, Walmart and Discount Tire were damaged.

GRAPEVINE, Texas — One year to the day since multiple tornadoes ripped through North Texas, Sam's Club announced plans to reopen its Grapevine store in late 2024 after it had closed due to significant damage it sustained.

This comes months after officials said in April the store would permanently close.

Five people were injured in the storms, and several businesses, including the Grapevine Mills Mall, Walmart and Discount Tire were damaged.

"Following extensive renovations, Sam's Club is eager to reintroduce an enhanced shopping experience to its valued members," a Sam's Club spokesperson said in an email. "With a focus on innovation, the Grapevine location will showcase leading technology from Sam’s Club, improved services and an extensive selection of high-quality products at disruptive prices, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable shopping journey for every member."

As part of its reopening announcement, Sam's Club will provide $30,000 through a grant and in-kind charitable donations to support the Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE), further strengthening its ties with the Grapevine community, the spokesperson said.
