Officers arrest 25-year-old man for assaulting and killing man, police say

DALLAS — Officers have arrested a Dallas man for assaulting and killing a man in northwest Dallas, according to the Dallas Police Department.

On Dec. 14, 2023, around 11:30 a.m., Dallas police responded to a call for service in the 17600 block of Addison Road. This is northeast of Addison Airport and southwest of Frankford Crossing.

The initial investigation determined that 34-year-old Gregory Nunn was assaulted at the location and transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

Further investigation identified 25-year-old Daymon Lamar Payton as the suspect, according to police.

The following day on Dec. 15, 2023, Payton turned himself in. He is charged with murder and was taken to the Dallas County Jail.
