Elevated Tex-Mex chain Mesero to expand to Nashville

Mesero’s menu mimics its mantra: "Mexican spirit, American life."

DALLAS — Editor's note: This article originally appeared in the Dallas Business Journal here.

One of Dallas’ top-rated Tex-Mex restaurants is expanding to Nashville.

Mesero will open in the 12 South Collection at 2803 12th Ave. S., suite 202, joining high-profile tenants like Sam Fox’s The Henry, Jenni Kayne, Rag & Bone and La Vie Style House.

The 12 South location will be Mesero Restaurant Group's eighth. However, two more are under construction: one in the Dallas suburb of Allen and one in Oklahoma City, according to EscapeHatchDallas.

Nashville-based City Construction will handle the $1.25 million construction, while Texas-based ID Studio 4 will serve as the architect, according to a Metro permit.

Mesero’s menu mimics its mantra: "Mexican spirit, American life." Highlights include several variations of queso and guacamole, brisket tacos, enchiladas, a double-patty burger, soups and entrees like seared ahi tuna, redfish, braised pork and ribeye.

A beverage menu includes several styles of margaritas, classic cocktails, sangria, Mesero’s take on ranch waters, wines and beer.

Mesero, led by president and CEO Trey Dyer, could not be reached for comment on Jan. 22.

Nashville’s 12South neighborhood has seen several retail developments pop up in the last year, including the 12 South Collection where Mesero will be located.
