Police searching for suspect wanted for allegedly shooting 2, killing 1 in Dallas, officials say

DALLAS — Police are searching for a suspect wanted for shooting and killing a man in southern Dallas.

The Dallas Police Department said officers were dispatched at approximately 5:35 p.m. Tuesday to the 3500 block of Fawn Valley Drive for a shooting call. 

When officers got to the scene, they determined the suspect, who police identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Gutierrez, got into a fight with 27-year-old Randy Mota-Bastida. DPD said Gutierrez shot Mota-Bastida and another man. 

Both victims were taken to the hospital, DPD said, where Mota-Bastida later died and the other man was listed in stable condition.

Dallas police said an at-large warrant has been issued for Gutierrez. No other information is available at this time.
