DALLAS — A 35-year-old man was fatally shot late Saturday night in East Dallas, police said.
Taikian Brooks was identified as the victim, according to a police news release.
Officers had responded to a shooting call in the 4900 block of Gaston Avenue off North Fitzhugh Avenue. When they arrived, they found Brooks, who was shot.
Brooks was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Dallas police arrested 26-year-old Travon Ransom in connection with the shooting. Ransom is charged with murder, evading arrest with a vehicle, and unlawful carry of a weapon, according to police. The motive is unclear at this time.
