DENTON, Texas — The Denton Police Department arrested a doctor after he allegedly inappropriately touched multiple female patients during appointments.

Ikenna Adugba was charged with four counts of indecent assault following a months-long joint investigation by DPD and the Texas Office of the Attorney General.

A woman first reported Adugba in May 2023, saying he inappropriately touched her during an appointment at First Medical Care Center in Denton, police say.

DPD detectives called the Texas AG's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for assistance due to Adugba being a Medicaid provider and physician.

Three additional female patients who reported Adugba for the same thing between 2022 and 2023 were identified over the course of the investigation, officials say.

Adugba was arrested without incident on Tuesday at his workplace in the 2100 block of Brinker Road, according to police.

Adugba denies any wrongdoing. Two days after his arrest, a staffer at the medical office confirmed to WFAA that Agudba was back in the office. It's unknown if he has continued seeing patients directly in light of the allegations.

Although police arrested Agudba on four counts of indecent assault, a Denton County District Court clerk told WFAA on Thursday that no formal charges had been filed against the doctor.

During a phone conversation with WFAA's Scoop Jefferson, Agudba explained he had not hired an attorney, so he wouldn't comment on the allegations but insists he's done nothing wrong.

Police are asking anyone with information about Adugba, like unreported incidents, to call Detective Marqui Curtis at 940-349-7727.
