ARLINGTON, Texas — A 33-year-old woman was killed after crashing into a tree in Arlington on Tuesday morning, police said.

Shardae Gaither, of Fort Worth, was identified as the victim, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of West Sublett Road in south Arlington.

Investigators learned that a 2022 Honda Accord driven by Gaither was heading east on Sublett when it made an unsafe lane change in front of a 2021 Ram 1500 pickup truck. Police said the Accord struck the front of the pickup truck and then spun out and crashed into a tree in the median.

Gaither was taken to a hospital, where she died of blunt force injuries. Police said she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
