Boys & Girls Club hosts free prom dress giveaway in Dallas

All Dallas-area teens who are attending prom this year are invited to browse through a selection of gently-used gowns, shoes, and accessories.

DALLAS — All Dallas-area teens who are attending prom this year are invited to browse through a selection of gently-used gowns, shoes, and accessories for their perfect prom ensemble.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) is hosting its annual Prom Dress Extravaganza on Saturday, March 9 from 10 am to 1 p.m. at the East Dallas Club, located at 4804 Worth St.

Dresses are provided through Comerica Bank's Prom Dress Drive running through Sat., Feb. 29. For more information or to find out where to donate a dress, visit bgcdallas.org.

In addition to free shopping, the event will feature DJ K-Sprinkles and exclusive swag bags for the first 25 guests. Attendees will also have the chance to receive styling tips and guidance from experienced volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring that every individual feels their best.

"We are thrilled to host the Prom Dress Extravaganza once again and provide teens with the opportunity to experience the joy of prom without the financial burden," said Dwaylon Whitmore, Director of Teen Services at BGCD. "Prom is a milestone moment for many high schoolers, and we believe that every young person deserves to feel confident and special on their big night."

BGCD is also accepting donations of jewelry and other accessories to top off the lucky girls' looks. Drop-offs are accepted at the BGCD Administration Building, located at 4816 Worth St.
