Woman killed by hit-and-run driver on I-30 near downtown Dallas, officials say

DALLAS — Authorities are looking for a driver who hit and killed a woman on Interstate 30 near downtown Dallas early Monday, officials said.

The crash happened around 2:15 a.m. on eastbound I-30 near Interstate 45, according to a news release from the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded and found a woman dead in the roadway. She had apparently been hit by a vehicle, the release said.

The vehicle that hit the woman did not stop or render aid, according to investigators, and they had no description of what the vehicle looks like.

The victim's vehicle was found wrecked and abandoned on the connector ramp from southbound 45 to eastbound 30. More information about the initial wreck was not released.

The woman's name has not been released yet.
