Longtime Fort Worth Fire lieutenant killed in motorcycle crash while off duty, department confirms

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth Fire Department Lt. Garey Pugh was killed in a motorcycle crash while off duty, the department confirmed Saturday.

Lt. Pugh, 56, had worked for the city of Fort Worth for 34 years, according to the fire department.

Fire officials tell WFAA that the accident was reported near Sunnyvale while the lieutenant was with a group of other motorcyclists.

Additional information wasn’t immediately available.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time,” the fire department said in a post on social media.
