DALLAS — A portion of the Dallas North Tollway between Belt Line Road and Keller Springs Road near Addison will be closed overnight Saturday into Sunday to advance construction of the DART Silver Line regional rail project.

During the closure, drivers going southbound on the Dallas North Tollway will have to take the Keller Springs Road exit ramp, stay on the exit ramp, and get back on the tollway at Belt Line Road.

Drivers going northbound on the Dallas North Tollway will exit at Belt Line Road, continue onto the frontage road, and reenter the tollway at Keller Springs Road.

“Our primary focus is safety first, so while we understand this will cause an inconvenience for drivers at night, we want to ensure drivers and our crews remain out of harm’s way during normal daytime traffic,” said DART chief development officer Dee Leggett. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we make progress on the Silver Line and adjacent hike and bike trail in the area.”

Crews from Archer Western Herzog, DART’s design-build contractor, will set beams for a rail bridge that will take the Silver Line over the DNT and a future pedestrian bridge that connects Dallas and Addison as part of a regional hike and bike trail.

Additional road closures are expected later this spring to early summer as DART sets both bridges and the North Texas Tollway Authority completes additional work on the Dallas North Tollway. The northbound and southbound frontage roads will remain open.

The DART Silver Line, a 26-mile commuter rail that will run between DFW Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano, will traverse Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, and Plano. The DART Silver Line revenue service is expected to begin in late 2025 to mid-2026.
