LOS ANGELES — Grand Prairie native singer and actress Selena Gomez will venture into the kitchen of some of Los Angeles’ most popular restaurants in a new Food Network show.

In Gomez’s new show “Selena + Restaurant,” chefs Shirley Chung, Keith Corbin, Stephanie Izard, Andrew and Michelle Munoz, Wolfgang Puck and Marcel Vigneron will teach and test Gomez over six episodes to see how quickly she can learn the ropes and create a dish worthy of being on the menu.

“Selana + Restaurant” will premiere on The Food Network May 2. It will also stream on Max, according to the network.

In the first episode, Gomez and her friend, Raquelle Stevens, head to Puck’s restaurant CUT Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, where they’ll be tasked with mastering one of Puck’s dishes before creating a take on a spicy seafood dish.

Other restaurants they’re set to visit for the show include dumpling spot Ms. Chi, Lemon Grove, barbecue spot Moo’s Craft Barbecue, Girl & the Goat and soul food restaurant Alta.

It’s not Gomez’ first foray into the culinary world, though. She launched Selena + Chef on Max in 2020, in which she cooked at home with chefs. The show ran for four seasons.

“After cooking mostly virtually from my kitchen with some of the best chefs for the last four years, I was thrilled to step into their world,” said Gomez. “You’ll have to see if being in person helped my skills at all.”
