Lewisville resident wins $1 million Powerball prize

The winning ticket was bought at a Kroger in Flower Mound, Texas.

LEWISVILLE, Texas — Another North Texan has won the Texas Lottery, this time a resident from Lewisville, who claimed a Powerball prize worth $1 million.

The prize was for the March 27 drawing, the Texas Lottery said.

The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket at a Kroger in Flower Mound, 2709 Cross Timbers Road, the Texas Lottery said.

The ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn, the Texas Lottery said, but not the red Powerball number (8).

Powerball players win the prize by matching five numbers from a field of 69, and a Powerball number from a field of 26. The grand prizes for the Powerball currently start at $20 million, rolling until the jackpot is won.

Drawings for the Powerball are broadcast at 10:12 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
