1 in custody after SWAT responds after Dallas shooting, police say

Officers responded around 12:15 p.m. to a shooting call at Alcott Street and North Fitzhugh Avenue, about two blocks east of U.S. 75.

DALLAS — A suspect is in custody after SWAT officers responded Wednesday afternoon to a Dallas shooting scene after a possible suspect was found on the roof of a building, threatening to jump, police officials said.

Police say the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending. 

Officers had initially responded around 12:15 p.m. to a shooting call near Alcott Street and North Fitzhugh Avenue, just east across U.S. 75 from the Uptown Dallas area.

Police said officers learned that a man had been shot by an unknown suspect. The victim was taken to a hospital, and their condition was unknown.

As police investigated the shooting, they found the possible suspect was on the roof of a Fitzhugh Urban Flats apartment building, threatening to jump, police officials said.
