Rick Ross' private jet gets landing gear stuck in grass after landing in DFW, FAA says

When reached by email, the FAA directed WFAA to a statement saying the jet got its left main gear stuck in grass while taxiing after landing in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, Texas — Rapper Rick Ross' private plane got stuck in the grass after landing in DFW on Thursday, according to FAA officials.

Reports went viral online after photos showed Ross' plane in a grassy area claiming it had "crashed in Dallas." These photos surfaced after the rapper, himself, tweeted on Friday that his jet had crashed.

When reached by email, FAA officials directed WFAA to its statement online about the incident, which reads:

"A Gulfstream G-5 business jet’s left main gear got stuck in the grass while taxiing after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport in Texas around 6:30 p.m. local time Thursday, May 2. The FAA will investigate."

The incident involving the Ross' plane came nearly a month after he had made fun of Drake's private plane, joking that it was old and Drake needed to be careful the next time he used it.

On his Instagram story, Rick Ross thanked everyone who had expressed prayers for his safety and walked back his comments about Drake's plane being old.

Ross was scheduled to perform twice at The Garden in Dallas – on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3.
