DALLAS — 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard is set to become a Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Residences.

Dallas-based JMJ Development will serve as developer and owner. International hospitality investor and manager Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will manage the property, located along Turtle Creek Boulevard at Dickason Avenue.

"2999 is the diamond of Turtle Creek," JMJ Development Founder-CEO Timothy L. Barton said in a recent interview with the Dallas Business Journal.

The property will include 176 guest rooms and suites, four restaurants and bars and 100 residences. Residents will have access to bespoke amenities, including an outdoor pool, club lounge and private gardens.

The 25-story mixed-use tower is expected to open in 2022.

"That Turtle Creek site is so special, and it is time for us to do something for a legacy project here in Dallas," said Barton.

Founded in 1990 by Barton, JMJ Development has been eyeing the Turtle Creek area for a luxury hotel-condo project since 2007.

And Barton believes that it could be an opportunity to lift Dallas' condo market.

"People have more wealth. They want to enjoy it, they want to spend it, they want the best spas, they want the best everything. That's what we're going to bring," said Barton.

“We are delighted to announce a Mandarin Oriental property in this dynamic and sought-after Dallas neighbourhood, together with a premier residential project. We look forward to extending the Group’s presence into one of America’s most important business and leisure destinations,” said Mandarin Oriental Group Chief Executive James Riley in a prepared statement.
