DALLAS — Updated with more information from Dallas Fire Rescue.

Ten people, ranging in age from 7 to 58 years old, were taken to various hopsitals Wednesday night after being exposed to carbon monoxide in east Oak Cliff, officials said.

Dallas Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call for an unconscious person at a church at 1402 Ann Arbor Avenue at 7:56 p.m., officials said.

Officials said seven units have been dispatched to the location, and multiple patients have been taken to area hospitals.

They found multiple people on scene complaining of symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide exposure, like lethargy, dizziness, headaches and nausea.

A total of seven rescue units and an EMS supervisor were dispatched to the location, Dallas Fire Rescue said.

Officials said a propane grill was being used inside the church for cooking, and the doors were closed, which caused the gas to spread.

Officials said they don't know if the church had carbon monoxide detectors.

This is a developing story. WFAA will update it as more information becomes available.
