Police identify 24-year-old man shot, killed in car in Old East Dallas

Dallas police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man near Forest Lane and Leisure Drive.

DALLAS — This story has been updated to reflect additional information from police and identify the victim. 

Dallas police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man near Forest Lane and Leisure Drive in Old East Dallas. 

When officers responded to a shooting call on the 10100 block of Forest Lane shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, they found a man who had been shot. 

Officials later identified him as Mohamed Koroma, 24. He was found in the front seat of a black Chevrolet SUV, they said, and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police say the suspect is still at large.  Witnesses told officers they saw a male exit the victim’s car after the shooting and get into a different vehicle. 

The suspect allegedly got into a silver 4-door sedan that had damage to the front of the vehicle and a spare tire on the front driver’s side. 

Authorities say there was another male and female in the car that the suspect got into. 

According to investigators, that vehicle fled in the southbound direction on Forest View Street.
